ABUS and CISA are both well-known locksmith and security companies that operate independently of each other. They are a global leader in security solutions with a presence in over 100 countries worldwide.

CISA, on the other hand, is an Italian brand that specializes in high-security electronic and mechanical locking systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Their range includes mortice locks, digital lock systems, cylinders, and access control systems, all marked by their engineering excellence and industrial design.

In 2016, ABUS became the major shareholder of CISA by acquiring 100% of their shares. However, both brands still operate as separate entities, although ABUS helps CISA to expand its brand worldwide with its established brand recognition and global reach. The two companies maintain distinct brands and product innovations. Cooperating while retaining individual identities and product suites allowed ABUS to further develop its portfolio of locking solutions while omitting concerns around product portfolio overlap, seamless engagement of customer demand, and preserving investor identity.
